Equipping and informing the Warfighter through a triad of headborne, body worn, and weapon mounted sensors and systems, this integrated ecosystem maximizes situational awareness, informed decision-making and minimizes cognitive overload to effectively enable speed to action. Wilcox’s approach ensures seamless operation as a connected platform, empowering the Warfighter to navigate the complex, cross-domain digital battlespace and operate effectively at the tactical edge with enhanced combat readiness and capability.

Headborne

Wilcox’s FUSION CLAW™ Integrated Headborne Mounting System is part of a “Soldier as a System” approach, combining modular devices and accessories to enhance situational awareness and operator performance. “CLAW”, which stands for Common, Lightweight, Adaptable, and Wearable, reflects the system’s vision for a customizable, integrated solution. The FUSION CLAW platform is scalable, upgradeable, and adaptable, with power/data management designed to evolve. Its’ modularity allows operators to tailor the system to their mission, ensuring flexibility and long-term relevance.

Headborne protective systems vary widely in size, shape, and protection, with different attachment points and methods for adding devices. Incrementally adding devices increases cost, complexity, and weight, leading to unaffordable systems, cognitive overload, and neck strain. Moreover, systems must remain compatible with existing technologies while adapting to future advancements. Interoperability requirements include devices like night vision goggles, HUDs, tactical headsets, IFF systems, and more. The complexity of next-gen technologies, like augmented reality and AI, only adds to the challenge, often narrowing solutions to single-purpose, proprietary designs that limit flexibility, compatibility, and upgradeability.

The FUSION CLAW uses a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA), emphasizing flexibility, affordability, and adaptability. Designed to allow users to tailor solutions for specific missions. For example, the Modular Smart Battery Pack (MSBP) offers swappable battery compartments and simple upgrades to new battery technologies. The MSBP also features a modular electronics module, the Visual Augmentation Pack (VAP), which integrates seamlessly with advanced night vision and HUD systems, reducing the need for complete system overhauls.

Wilcox addresses cost, complexity, and weight by leveraging lightweight, high-strength materials and smart device placement to optimize the center of gravity. This design approach helps minimize neck strain and balance the load on the operator, improving comfort and performance. It provides integrated capabilities for illumination, mission recognition, audio headset integration and video, IFF, in a single headborne system. Through strategic partnerships with industry leaders, Wilcox delivers competitive solutions that reduce cognitive load, simplify decision-making, and ensure future-proofed, interoperable headborne systems. The Warfighter Mission-Focused AI-Informed FUSION Central Network Controller (FUSION CNC™) integrates all systems within a multi-domain ecosystem, simplifying interconnections and data flow. It offers seamless, intuitive control across diverse technologies through common interfaces. Platform- and software-agnostic, the FUSION CNC manages data, power, and network control, ensuring system compatibility. This integration enhances flexibility and operational efficiency, ensuring smooth, coordinated performance on the battlefield. The FUSION CNC features multiple ports for connecting interchangeable weapon accessories, with a processor and memory linked to the ports. An input device allows the operator to control the accessories, while the controller mediates devices communication. This setup enables efficient management of connected systems. Additionally, individual power units are now integrated by a single battery offering increased efficiency and effectiveness across multiple devices.

The FUSION CNC’s modular, compact design allows for flexible mounting on weapons, vests, or backpacks, providing seamless integration and intuitive control, even across different connection methods. The system enhances operational capability by integrating disparate technologies. For example, a laser rangefinder can feed ballistic data to a thermal sight, adjusting the reticle, while streaming thermal video to a command and control aggregator via a data radio. This ergonomic integration improves effectiveness and situational awareness, streamlining complex operations.

Weapon Mounted

From Concept to Capability, Wilcox FUSION WEAPON™ systems offer a next-generation solution for modern warfare by providing cutting-edge upgrades to existing weapon platforms. These upgrades integrate state-of-the-art technology to enhance the lethality, operational flexibility, and overall effectiveness of warfighters, enabling them to decisively dominate the battlefield. As pioneers of highly innovative and disruptive technology, Wilcox embraces a “Systems Approach to Networked Combat Operations,” dedicating itself to understanding the unique operational needs and conceptual requirements of its customers.

FUSION M4™

At the core of the FUSION WEAPON systems are advanced electro-optics and integrated sensors, which enable rapid target acquisition and precise engagement via network integration. This seamless AI enabled communication and targeting system provides real-time alerts to include transmitting critical data such as target location, identification, status updates, and focused maintenance and sustainment needs. This integration ensures that both the mission command structure and tactical operators are in constant synchronization, enabling shared awareness and accurately informed decision-making at the tactical edge. Overall, these capabilities support the Sensor-to-Shooter Concept, which facilitates true network-centric operations, allowing the system to rapidly adapt to battlefield conditions and respond to emerging threats with exceptional precision and lethality.

Wilcox FUSION WEAPON systems are lightweight, fully integrated fire control systems that manage both power and maintenance of the weapon to which it is mounted. The system includes an environmentally stable optical bench designed to withstand the rigors of combat environmental conditions while maintaining accuracy and performance. A unique battery design, comprising primary and reserve compartments, ensures continued operation even in the harshest conditions. The system functions as a Class 3B high-power laser aiming device, tailored specifically for military and law enforcement applications, providing unrivaled targeting accuracy and reliability.

Additionally, the FUSION WEAPON system tracks the total number of rounds fired from the weapon across the lifetime of the weapon. This data can be transmitted to provide both predictive maintenance alerts to ensure the weapon remains in peak operational condition and ammo sustainment requirements across the mission command network for real-time autonomous system resupply. The system also distinguishes itself by allowing the operator to switch between different ammunition types with ease, simply by flipping a trajectory switch. This adaptability ensures maximum effectiveness in diverse combat scenarios. Lastly, Wilcox sets the industry standard for optical performance, offering unparalleled beam clarity and uniformity, dramatically reducing illuminator speckle, and enhancing both targeting precision and operator situational awareness in dynamic environments.
